Most Frankston customers find us two ways, either a stack of branches they have cut down themselves and now cannot get rid of, or a landscaping job that needs cubic metres of mulch dropped onto the block. The chipper sorts the first, the tipper sorts the second, and we can do both in the one visit if that suits.

For on-site chipping we bring the machine to your place and run anything up to about 200mm thick through it. That covers prunings from a weekend in the yard, branches from a limb down after a storm, or the green waste left over from a big backyard tidy-up. The chip stays as a heap on your block for you to use, or we load it back into the truck and take it away. Either way it beats trailer runs to the transfer station for time, cost and hassle.

For bulk mulch we stock three main lines, fresh hardwood chip off our own removals, good for paths, weed suppression and around mature trees, aged composted mulch broken down enough to feed garden beds and new plantings, and a dyed landscape mulch in red or black for the formal jobs where the look matters. Order by the cubic metre, dropped straight to the driveway across Frankston. Spreading can be added on if you would rather not wheelbarrow it yourself.

About us

A local crew that knows Frankston trees

I started this crew because half the trees around Frankston are too close to a roof, a fence or the wires to just drop, and most people want someone who turns up when they say they will. So that is what we do. Old gums, salt-battered cypress, a banksia that has had enough, we sort it and leave the yard tidy.

We know the streets here, the sandy soil that lets shallow-rooted trees lift in a gale, the bay winds that snap limbs off the tall stuff, and the mix of post-war brick homes and newer builds where backyard access is usually a standard side gate. That local read is why our quotes hold up on the day.

Mulching & Wood Chipping FAQs

How big a branch can the chipper handle?

Up to around 200mm thick clean through, which covers most prunings and storm material. Anything bigger we cut into chunks first, then feed the smaller pieces through. Trunk wood thicker than that usually gets cut into rounds and either left for firewood or quoted as a haulage line if you want it gone.

What is the difference between fresh and aged mulch?

Fresh chip comes straight off the chipper after a removal, mostly hardwood, holds moisture well and locks weeds down. It suits paths and the ground around established trees. Aged mulch has spent months in a heap breaking down, so it is softer, darker, and gentle enough for garden beds and new plantings where fresh chip would briefly pull nitrogen out of the soil.

How much mulch do I need to order?

For a 75 to 100mm layer over a garden bed, one cubic metre covers roughly 10 to 13 square metres. Measure the bed in metres, multiply length by width, then divide by about 11 for a rough cubic-metre figure. Ring through the dimensions when you order and we will work it out together so you do not end up with half a load left over.

Can the mulch be delivered and spread in Frankston?

Yes, both. A tipper drop is the default, the truck backs up the driveway and tips the load wherever it can sit. If wheelbarrowing is not on the cards, add the spreading line to the quote and the crew rakes the mulch out across the beds before they leave. Works well for older customers and the bigger jobs.
